Miz Liz and the Birthday Party....

These are way over due, so:

Here is the amazing Miz Liz and her cake. I happen to like this picture very much. It's just the look on her face and the glow of the candles.

Another great shot.
This is Rich and wife #2. Unfortunately, I did not get a shot of him with wife #1. I love Rich, he can walk into a room full a yapping knitting ladies, speak with ease about Clapotis', Noro yarn, designing quilts and then put up a light fixture like a pro!
Please forgive me PJ, I always seem to get you eating! (LOL)
Liz and some of her cool presents....

Believe me, this was just the tip of the iceberg. I think I have a shot for each gift she opened...I just didn't want to overwhelm ya'll with all of those!

I had a great time at this party. It came at a time when I was really stressing out about my insurance class and I needed this diversion. I hope we celebrate many more events together! I also have to say that I think my favorite part of the evening was when her son came down to say hi to everyone. Pretty brave for a 17 year old to do that. Anyway, he came down, said hello, hung around for a couple of minutes then went back upstairs. On his way up, we all yelled stuff like, 'Nice meeting you' and when he yelled back down, 'It was nice meeting you and you are all beautiful!' he stole all of our hearts! (Well, he stole mine anyway!)

Is it over yet?

I ask you all again, WHAT MADE ME THINK I COULD DO THIS?! I am totally freaking out. I wish I hadn't had to tell anyone about this G-D class. Turns out one of the two girls in my office didn't want to say anything either, but somehow it got out. They are all done and passed now they just have to set up a date to take their licensing exams. My final isn't until next week and I am DYING! I haven't been able to sleep or concentrate on much of anything, even studying. I tried going to the library a couple of times, but there was construction going on (can you believe that!) so it was noisier than being home. Okay, I'm just going to try and take a deep breath and relax. While I'm doing that, here is a picture of my girlfriend with her birthday gift.
Pretty neat, huh? He's supposed to be life sized but the cut out is 5'9" and he's actually 5'11" so they are liars and deceivers! (LOL)

And I promise, my Panera knitty friends, to post photos of a recent, totally awsome knitty birthday party and a couple of W.I.P's. But for now, this is all I got!

Apologies and Happy Birthday

It was pointed out to me that I forgot to mention a knitty gathering of 7 on 7/7/07. A group of us trooped on over to Karen's house for some porch knitting. We all brought some form of knitting and sat out on her porch and drank wine, ate chocolate covered strawberries and had a great time. Karen was a great hostess and Master Toby was very kind in allowing us to occupy his space. I think we are all a bad influence on each other though. Since we've met, I know some of our group have just gone hog wild with their yarn stashes. There are a couple of yarn shops going out of business and these ladies have been going to them quite frequently (some so often that the owner knows their name....ahem, Karen...). At least they are doing the smart thing and buying enough yarn to go with a particular project which they've bought the pattern for. I am much more of an impulsive buyer. I'll see some nice yarn, buy two and then have absolutely no idea of what I am going to make with it. I guess it's the Aries in me. I sometimes like to just go and see what happens. Anyway, we need to go back to The Porch for another visit soon. When we do, I'll remember my camera and post photos of our get together.

And now for Peter. Our Peter turned 15 yesterday. Gosh, I can't believe that he's freekin 15! I remember when he was a curly haired, 2ft tall midget walking around proposing to me. He doesn't do that anymore, but he does hug me once in a while. He is now taller than me (well, being that I'm a Hobbit, most people are) and he's sooo smart, and sweet and just an all around great kid. I am very proud of him. He's had to overcome a lot of things these last couple of years and he's really come through everything well. Left to right, is Tula, the wonder neighbor, Paige (aka Peter's mommy) and her boobs and of course the birthday boy, Peter. The cake was deelish!
Happy birthday Peter. I love you!!
